THE QUIET SOUL PIANO SERIES is a collection of solo piano pieces from Eric Copeland's catalog of songs he has written for other artists and previous CDs, and several of his favorite hymns. "Prelude" sets the stage for a soul searching experience. "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us" is a haunting melody from the old Baptist hymnal, here given some minor melodic and chordal twists that soothe and smooth. As "By His Design" hits it's first notes, now you're deep in meditation, sensing the power of the creator, and leading you to a state "Of Clear Mind". "Mother and Child" is dedicated to the special maternal bond. We've all been just about to a goal, when something holds us back. That's the theme of "Almost...But Not Quite". "The Savior is Waiting" is another song plucked from the hymnal, but yet subtly played and designed to relax. "Another Stolen Moment" is a quiet respite before the listener enters "Dream Canyon". A majestic, grand locale...where dreams come to rest.

Eric Copeland . The Jazz in Me (2008)

THE JAZZ IN ME marks the return to original jazz music by producer, keyboardist, and songwriter Eric Copeland. After releasing albums of his own in the 90's, including the funky, synth jazz "Cooler" and the seminal, laid back "Stolen Moments", Copeland began producing albums for national and international artists full-time. In the past few years though, Copeland began retooling some older songs he had written for other artists (My Steps Are Ordered, Come to Me), new takes on classic hymns (Softly and Tenderly, Just As I Am), polishing up a few he had previously released (Have Thine Own Way), and writing new tunes that defined his current place in life (In Between Dreams, On the Side). The result is THE JAZZ IN ME.
